컴퓨터는 다양한 종류의 데이터를 비트(Bit) 패턴(Pattern) 으로 표현한다. 비트란 0 과 1 의 값을 갖는 이진수(Binary Digit)를 의미하며, Binary Digit 를 축약하여 bit 라는 용어를 사용한다.
