- 유전자 발현의 조절
생존에 필요한 대사조절 및 기능 단백질 합성
complex and highly regulated
대장균 내 100개 이상의 transcription factor 존재하여 RNAP 기능 조절

RNA Synthesis
1) Initiation :
- initiate transcription at specific DNA sequences known as promoters.
2) Elongation :
produces an RNA chain, which is complementary to the template DNA strand.
Addition of nucleotide to RNA strand
3) Termination :
- RNAP will preferentially release its RNA transcript at specific DNA sequences encoded at the end of genes known as terminators.
