On a poet's lips I slept
Dreaming like a love-adept
In the sound his breathing kept;
Nor seeks nor finds he mortal blisses--
But feeds on the aerial kisses
Of shapes that haunt thoughts' wildernesses.
He will watch from dawn to gloom
The lake-reflected sun illume
The yellow bees in the ivy-bloom,
Nor heeds nor sees, what things they be--
But from these create he can
Forms more real than living man,
Nurslings of immortality!

어느 시인의 입술에서 나는 잠잤다.
사랑에 통달한 이처럼
그의 숨결소리 들으며 꿈꾸었다.
그는 인간의 행복을 구하지도 찾지도 않는다.
상념의 황야를 드나드는 형상들의
영묘한 키스를 먹고 살 뿐.
그는 새벽부터 저녁까지 지켜본다.
호수에 반사된 해가 담장이 꽃 속
노란 벌들을 비치는 것을.
그것들이 무엇인지는 주의하지도 보지도 않는다---
