2-Chloro-2-Methylbutane (tert-Amyl Chloride)

I. 서론

tert-amyl alcoho를 차가운 HCl 과 반응시키면 tert-amyl chloride (2-chloro-2-methylbutane)을 얻는다.

위 반응은 아래와 같은 단계에 따라서 이루어진다.

Side Reaction이 중요하지는 않지만 매우 적은 양의 2-methyl-2-butene (더불어 좀더 소량의 2-methyl-1-butene)이 carbocation이 proton을 잃음으로써 생성될 수 있다.
